Important Advisements

As of February 13, 2025, the following advisements apply to your vacation. Please read them carefully, as they include important information that you need to know before departure. Be sure to review this packet in its entirety, and advise us of any necessary changes immediately to avoid any change fees or vacation interruptions:

  • Look over your vacation details: the dated itinerary, and other details, to ensure that we’ve covered everything you need for your vacation.
  • Additional advisements may be sent to you.
  • Children must be at least 8 years old to travel. There are no child discounts available.
  • Confirmation of hotels will be available approximately 30 days prior to departure. In the event of additional departures on the same date, or other events that may result in the unavailability of hotels as listed in the tour descriptions, the accommodations substituted will be equivalent in standard.
  • In the event of water level problems or maintenance on the locks on stretches of any river, it may be necessary to operate part of the itinerary by motor coach or alter the program, including hotel overnight when necessary.
  • Included visits and special features are subject to change. If a change is necessary, a substitute will be offered.
  • Full passport details are required no later than final payment for all guests traveling internationally.

Before you book with us or depart on your Christmas Market Cruise on the Danube followed by 2 nights in Prague, you may have some questions about what to expect. Below are questions and answers relating to the most important topics to our guests to give you peace of mind and assurance before you embark on your trip.

Who is this Tour for?

The average age of passengers is mid-50s to 60s, but the mix varies by itinerary, and on four- and five-night cruises, you'll find more 40-something travelers and others trying out river cruises for the first time. Children ages 8 and older are welcome onboard, but there is no formal youth program.

Are my pre and post cruise hotels included in my fare?

Yes, your hotel in Vienna on December 4th, 2026 and your hotel in Prague on December 11th and 12th, 2026 are included with your fare

If I wish to extend my stay in Prague after December 13th, 2026, can Gravitate Travel help me secure hotel rooms?

Yes, Gravitate Travel would be happy to help you with this, please be sure to plan well in advance as there could be limited hotels depending on the time of year.

Are there direct non-stop flights from major Canadian cities to Vienna and returning from Prague?

Yes, there are direct flights from Montreal to Vienna, and a connecting flight returning from Prague.

Are there any mobility concerns with this tour?

For anyone with mobility restrictions, we are happy to assist in accommodating you

What information is required to secure a spot on the Cruise Tour?

Names exactly as they are on your passports and date of birth. We will assist with any additional documents required for travel

What forms of payment do you accept?

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We can also accept Interact Email Money transfer only after the initial deposit is made via credit card. When making future payments via Interact payments must be made no less than 7 business days before payment is due.

Do the hotels have a spa?

What are the entry requirements to Austria, Germany and Czech Republic ?

For those traveling with a Canadian Passport, the passport is required to be valid for 6 months

Can Gravitate Travel quote me on travel insurance to protect my trip?

Yes, we certainly can. We work with Manulife Travel Insurance and can only quote travel insurance for those that reside in Ontario. Others Canadian residents outside of Ontario we can have one of the Manulife Travel Insurance team across Canada quote you based on your province of residence as we are only licensed to sell travel insurance in Ontario.

What is the initial deposit to secure my spot?

$550 CAD per cabin for double or single occupancy

When is the final payment required?

The final payment is due on August 15th, 2026 

Is there a payment plan or can I make multiple payments for this trip?

Once you have made your initial non-refundable deposit via credit card, you may continue to make payments in any increment via Gravitate Travel as long as you have paid for the tour in full no later than (August 15th, 2026). The benefit of booking way in advance is that you can add payments at your leisure or on a scheduled basis, whatever you are comfortable with.

Will the tour accommodate any special dietary/allergy concerns?

Yes, please work with your travel professional to identify your needs at the time of booking.

What happens if I have to cancel my trip?

Please refer to our cancellation schedule below :

  • Up to Final Due date of August 15th, 2026 – Non-Refundable deposit of $550 CAD per cabin
  • August 16th to  – November 20th, 2026: Non-refundable 80%
  • November 21st, 2026 or later: Non-refundable 100%
